IncomeFlow was founded in 2018 by a group of professionals frustrated with the financial tools available to them. Our founder, Sarah Chen, was juggling freelance projects, consulting work, and investment income across six different platforms. She kept spreadsheets, used multiple apps, and still couldn't see a clear picture of her earnings.
One day, a client asked Sarah what her hourly rate really was across all her income sources. She couldn't answer without spending hours calculating. That moment sparked an idea: what if there was a simple, elegant platform that brought all income sources together and automatically showed meaningful insights?
Sarah partnered with two engineers, Michael Torres and Kenji Nakamura, and they spent the next year building IncomeFlow from scratch. They interviewed hundreds of professionals—freelancers, consultants, small business owners, and employees with side hustles—to understand exactly what they needed.
In 2019, we launched IncomeFlow to a closed beta of 100 users. The response was overwhelming. Within six months, we'd grown to 5,000 users. Today, we serve over 100,000 professionals across North America, Europe, and Asia who trust us with their financial data.
We're still guided by that original vision: create the income tracking and planning platform we always wanted to use. We're proud of what we've built, but we know we're just getting started. Our roadmap includes AI-powered financial coaching, tax optimization recommendations, and integration with more banking and investment platforms.
